Following the UK's pledge as the first country to commit to phasing out non-zero emission HGVs, the Government has unveiled a new chargepoint design.
The design was created by the Royal College of Art and PA Consulting, who were given a £200,000 grant by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) - a branch of the Department for Transport (DfT).

The official 'soft-touch' launch of the area has started; with drivers' having until 11:59:59pm 13 June 2021 to get ready for the new daily fee or ensure a suitable exemption has been obtained.
The zone will run 24-hours hours a day; with drivers having multiple methods to pay for the charge via the Government payment scheme website, or by phone (0300 029 8888 - Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm).

On the back of the UK Governments goal to end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans in the UK by 2030, plans have been unveiled today for new Green license plates to start appearing on electric vehicles - with a stated goal of raising awareness of zero-emission vehicles, but also with the promise of local initiatives such as cheaper parking and cost-free entry to zero-emission zones.

After the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan revealed plans to increase the London Congestion Charge from £11.50 per day, to £15 per day (a 31% increase); the two campaign groups FairFuelUK (FFUK) and the Alliance of British Drivers (ABD) have teamed up to challenge these plans.

Starting from the 1st August 2020, the HGV Levy for UK & Overseas-registered HV's using the UK Road system will not be required to purchase a levy. This measure has been taken to aid the UK Economies recovery.
Please note: You will still be required to buy a levy up until 31st July 2020 and that DVSA enforcement will continue.
