As we noted in a previous article, the window to obtain the ECMT permits required for UK-based operators to maintain their trade with the EU is due to close in 10 days. Submissions past this point will be rejected without review, so we strongly suggest if you need one, to apply NOW.

The following is taken from an email circular released by the Department for Transport:

The ECMT application window opened last week and will close on Friday 20 November.

Full guidance on ECMT permits.

Please use this period between now and 20 November to apply. Late applications will not be accepted.

If developments on negotiations or a contingency measure for haulage access between the UK and EU are likely to mean any changes to the need to apply for an ECMT permit, further guidance will be provided.
