In response to the exceptional pressures on the freight industry due to the continued consequences of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Department for Transport has introduced a temporary relaxation of the enforcement of the EU drivers’ hours rules in England, Scotland and Wales for the general haulage of goods in Great Britain. UK – EU Provisions for Road Haulage; Permit Free till June 2021

On the 10th December 2020, the EU released a set of provisional contingency measures to apply to both international road access and air access for logistical operators in the event of a no-deal Brexit, to take effect as of 1st January 2021.
